Sin is a dangerous disease. It is the worst thing that has ever happened to humanity. It not only destroys our body, it destroys our relationships, our peace, and eventually destroys our soul. Doing things you don’t want to do brings about a flood of guilt, and like Adam and Eve we run away from God. Guilt is not a pleasant emotion, but it is a very important one. We can try to suppress our guilt, but that only ends up hurting us more. God asks us to come to Him. Ask for forgiveness, claim Christ’s righteousness, and be powered by the Spirit to change.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17.
Our lives must change. Our direction has to be turned to life. We can no further make excuses for things we know we ought to turn away from. Sin is death. God will work in us to be the people we need to be that we might have eternal life. We humans can never be perfect of ourselves, that is an impossibility. Christ’s love is the power humanity needs, to be changed. The Spirit is working with us. He shows us parts of our lives that needs healing and hope. The Spirit is patient, for every change comes challenges of a life of old habits. We shall stumble, we shall get frustrated, but we are never forsaken. God is changing us, every day. We face challenges every day, that will never stop till the other side of death. Praise God He loves us and never gives up on us, let us not give up on ourselves either.
