Consistent and Persistent
Last week was a blessing for me. I got to share thoughts God has given to me on prayer. Thoughts that have impacted me in my spiritual experience and has changed my relationship with prayer forever. Being persistent and consistent are words that ring true throughout the whole of the Bible:
1 Chronicles 16:11—Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
Ephesians 6:18—And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18—Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Philippians 4:6—Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
Luke 18:1—One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.
Psalm 116:2—Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!
Psalm 86:3—Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly.
Notice the language. Notice how the Bible is constantly reminding us that praying is not for a moment or a series of moments. It is a lifestyle. This week we are unpacking more of the idea of mindset and the role it has on our prayer life. Specifically when two men, one a pharisee and the other a tax collector, go to a temple to pray, but only one actually does.
