Corinthians 1:10

Let’s talk church unity shall we. Church unity is this all elusive word that haunts pastors. How do you accomplish church unity? What does church unity even mean? Can it be achieved in 2021? And the questions go on and on. The definition of unity is the state of being united or joined as a whole. What a concept huh? Imagine a church where all the members are apart of the same mission working and striving for a better community together. To utopian for you? Yeah me too. But scripture tells us a different story. 1 Corinthians 1:10 tells us, “I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no division among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.” Paul is challenging us to do the very thing we find almost impossible to do. So how do we do this? How do we get to a place where we are united in mind and thought. It starts with communication. And this sabbath I will be addressing this very thing, and providing 7 things a united church actually does and how we can replicate the biblical model of a united church.
