God provided tools

I remember when I was in junior high, I tried out for the football team. I had always been a pretty fast runner, but something was not right while practicing with the team. That was when I noticed that kids were carrying extra shoes to practice, I then realized there was a particular shoes called cleats. Shoes with extra long stubs on the bottom of the shoe that dug into the grass and provided extra grip. I went home that day, and asked my mom for some new cleats, and on the following day what a difference it made.

The greatest battle we fight while here on earth is a spiritual battle. A battle against an unbelieving world and a battle within our souls. I wonder sometimes if we can make a difference at all, but every now and then I see the power of God working in the souls of the world. Battling the enemy is hard enough, but I wonder how much harder we are making it on ourselves because we lack the right tools or equipment. There are challenges that are so difficult, and we have brought a knife to a gunfight.

And I tell you, you are Peter,

and on this rock I will build my church,

and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Matthew. 16:18

God has given His church power, the power to overcome the evil one. God has not left us alone or powerless, if we would learn the skills necessary to be victorious. The Bible, prayer, and faith are the foundation of this power. And if we would take the time to grow these tools, our challenges would be opportunities for victory. Every skilled master is a student, we learn and train every day to perfect the craft we intended weave into our life. Time and effort will create the desired effect in our lives.

God wishes for us to be strong and courageous. He has not left us alone, He has given us the tools to be victorious over the enemy, and proficient in the skills necessary for us to live the life of a Christian. Let us continue to train and strive for the highest calling Jesus has called us all to claim. Onward Christian soldiers!
