Isaiah 53:5
It is said you can’t keep a good man down. This was certainly the case when our Lord came back from the grave. Imagine a day without Jesus? Imagine the whole universe with bated breath wondering if their beloved Lord would come back to life. Could sin be conquered? Did love prevail? Was what Jesus did enough to save humanity from our sins?
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
No one truly knows the darkness of sin only Jesus knows what it means to be separated from God. Jesus did something for us so amazing. He took upon himself the pain and shame of our guilt that we might have the peace and life we never deserved. He loved us while we were still sinners, there was nothing we did to even warrant this sacrifice. All the risk, all the trials, all the responsibility was on Him. What a God that we serve. How blessed we are, and His love continues to flow to us every single day.
The tomb is empty my friends. Death has been conquered. Victory has been had. Every soul who clings to the mercy of Jesus can have life.
Let’s celebrate this weekend for what it is, the greatest victory of all time.
There is only one Greatest of All Time, and that person is Jesus!
