Let the Little Children Come
Surprisingly enough, Jesus has a lot to say when it comes to children. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

In Mark Jesus says, “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.” In Luke He says, “Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” In Jesus’ time children were looked down upon. The way that they were perceived was that they didn’t and couldn’t add value to the home. They couldn’t farm or take care of anyone in their home, in other words they couldn’t add a practical and tangible value to the home, and because of that they were looked down upon and looked over. But Jesus places a wonderful emphasis and priority over the way we should see children. They are not only valuable they are the ones that we can mimic and follow. The wonder of a child, the faith of a child, the love of a child is what we should be aiming for. Experiencing life with no agenda, no leverage, and no ulterior motive. Just being present with the people we love and experiencing life in real time. The holiday season always has a way of putting me into this childlike wonder. I love the Christmas tree. The idea of giving and sharing. Even the Christmas music (that I have been listening to since October). It’s puts me in this mental framing of being like a child. Just being exited, happy, and grateful. Jesus tells us to have this feeling, mindset, and behavior all year round. A lifestyle that constantly puts you in a mental state of childlike thinking. Simple, easy, and effortless. This Sabbath we get to experience a service where we can share with our little ones the worship and messages from our youth down to our babies. I can’t wait to sing with them and watch their smiles and shyness. What they will teach us this Sabbath is far more than what any sermon can. This Sabbath joins for our Children’s Sabbath School Program. Come and experience worship with children. Hopefully it will rub off on us how to be like them. Connected to the Vine,
