Longing for Home

It’s always exciting to go on a trip or a vacation. You get to explore new places, and get out of the ordinary. Hopefully, you get to spend time with some friends or family and eat some good food. As a few days pass, you feel a little emptiness forming in your heart. Everything is fine, but there develops in your heart, a desire to return home.

You enjoy the sightseeing, but there is a comfort that can’t be found away from your own space. A four star hotel room might be nice, but there is nothing like sleeping on your own bed.

And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. Luke 9:58.

We live in this world, but something seems amiss. There are many activities to keep us busy, but there is a longing in our hearts to be at “home”. As the song says, “This world is not our home, We’re just traveling through”. I’ve imagined many times, our first time we walk through those pearly gates. What a day it will be. Something our hearts have craved for a life time, will come true.

Jesus said, "Your treasure is where your heart is." Our treasure, our final reward is our home. Together and Forever, never to depart again.
