The Reason
Reason for the season? What other name could there be than Jesus? Alpha and Omega, our Creator, our Redeemer, our Comforter, the reason that we exist. Let us put everything aside, and commune with our God. We live for Him because He lives for us. We were created to be together for all time, and nothing can separate us from Him. We love Him because He loved us first. He knew us before we even took our first breath. He holds us in the palm of His hand and calls us beloved. We sing praises to Him, we look at his wonderful countenance and know we are loved. I think I will eventually run out of adjectives to describe our precious Lord.
A baby. Why? It is to my shame, that I can’t appreciate all Jesus has done for me. A sacrifice made that I can not begin to fathom. A love so deep and pure, it brings tears to my eyes. Oh let us come and adore Him, Christ our King. I can write this love letter all day long.
I want to share of His goodness from the rooftops, I wish that all the world could love Jesus.
If I had a wish, I would want to know Jesus more. I want to be able to see Him, as He sees me. I long for the day when I can hold Jesus in my arms. I want to hug him tight and never let go. I want to tell Jesus, “I love you.”
The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, “Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee." Jeremiah 31:3
Christmas lights, Christmas songs, Christmas gifts, and Christmas parties have only one meaning. Jesus. In the spirit, let’s make Christmas what it can be. Christ is everything. Let’s remove all the pagan ideas from our minds, and make everything this month be about the most important being in the entire universe. Let our minds go to Him, let our hearts beat with His. Let every breath be about Jesus. Let that sweet name never stop being sung. We were born for this, we were created for this, our eternal lives are made for this.
Sing, laugh, share, and love. Christ gave us everything that we could enjoy everything. Give hope to the weary, share love to the lonely, comfort those who have yet to find the reason for life. That is the least we can do. We can give back to what Jesus has so richly given to us. Let us become the reason for the season. Let us become Christ to the world. Let us live as Christ would want for the dying world. Let us share joy and peace, and may we all sing praises to our God.
