We Are Family
I wonder when the first time “I” was used in this universe. If I understand correctly, even God calls Himself, “Us”. The great “I Am”, is more than a singular term, it encompasses all time and space, and that’s who God is. If I had to make a guess, “I” is the middle letter for “Sin” and “Pride”. “I” is in the middle of everything that is counter to God’s love. Love is never about “me”, it has always been about “others”. God is Love.
By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:35
Our world has come to understand that we are the center of the world. We shall rise, and we shall fall. We shall attain, and we shall go to heaven. But, what if we have it all wrong. That the world is not about just us, but actually about each other. We’ve heard it said, that no man is an island. We would like to believe that our eternal life is not about just us either. One day, we will live forever because Jesus will be there. There is no point to eternal life without the One who makes eternity possible or desirable. Our existence can’t be just about us, it must also be about the relationships that we have with others. Heaven is a place of a great matrix of lives and loves.
We shall enter the kingdom of God together. Eternity will be worth living because there will be others there. We are family. The Next series of sermons will focus on the topic of church unity. It is not just a catch phrase. We shall enter the promised land together, and we will support and love each other till we see Jesus again. There is no “I” in team nor church. We will run this race together. We need each other, we need to support and depend on each other. We are all marching towards the kingdom, and being part of this church family is what will get us home. God bless you all.
