Welcoming Back with Open Arms

As we come back to our church community, we are reminded of the importance of acceptance and the value of each individual within our congregation. Today, let us reflect on the essence of acceptance, setting the stage for an upcoming sermon on this vital topic. Scripture: Romans 15:7 (NIV) - "Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God." 1. Embracing Grace: As we welcome each other back into the church, let us embrace the grace that Christ has extended to us. Just as He lovingly accepted us with all our flaws and imperfections, let us also accept one another without judgment or prejudice. In doing so, we become vessels of God's love and bring praise to His name. 2. Celebrating Unity in Diversity: Our church family is composed of diverse individuals with unique backgrounds and experiences. This diversity enriches our community and provides a beautiful opportunity to practice acceptance. As we gather, let us celebrate the unity found in Christ, recognizing that our differences are opportunities for mutual learning and growth.

3. Rebuilding Relationships: Coming back after a week off gives us an opportunity to reconnect with one another. Some may have faced challenges during the week, and others may have experienced times of joy and celebration. Let us approach each other with open hearts, seeking to rebuild and strengthen our relationships through acceptance and understanding. 4. Extending a Warm Welcome: As we enter the church today, let us purposefully extend a warm welcome to everyone we encounter. A simple smile, a kind greeting, or an affirming word can go a long way in making someone feel valued and accepted. Let our actions reflect the love of Christ, drawing people closer to Him. 5. Teaser for Sermon on Acceptance: In the upcoming sermon, we will delve deeper into the topic of acceptance. We will explore how Jesus' radical acceptance of all people challenges us to break down walls of prejudice and embrace the marginalized. Together, we will discover how acceptance can transform our hearts, our church community, and the world around us. Join us next week as we explore the profound impact of acceptance and how it aligns with God's ultimate plan for His people. As we welcome back the church family today, let us remember the significance of acceptance in our lives as followers of Christ. Embracing grace, celebrating unity in diversity, rebuilding relationships, and extending a warm welcome are steps toward creating an inclusive and loving church community. Let us eagerly anticipate the upcoming sermon on acceptance, seeking God's guidance to open our hearts and minds to this transformational message. May we grow in acceptance, reflecting the love of Christ to everyone we encounter.

Blessings. __________ Victor Reina Associate Pastor Hillsboro Seventh Day Adventist Church
